Myatts Fields Park cafe now open Wednesday to Sunday

The Little Cat cafe in Myatt's Fields Park is now open five days a week from Wednesday to Sunday for home made cakes, snacks, and hot and cold drinks.

Lambeth Council's Future Jobs Fund has supported the cafe providing funding to pay staff costs to enable the cafe to get off the ground.

Chair of the group which oversees the park, the Myatt's Fields Park Project Group, Lindsay Avebury said “When we’ve asked people what they want in the park, a cafe always came out as a top request. We are very excited that after a year of running the cafe just on Sundays we are now in a position to open five days a week. We hope that everyone who lives around the park will use the cafe as somewhere to meet up with friends. We also hope that as the business grows we will be able to open full-time.”

Local resident and Vassall Ward Councillor Kingsley Abrams welcomed the move saying "This is a great addition to Myatt's Fields Park which I'm sure will be well used. Its an excellent example of how Lambeth Council works with local people to make their local area better. The funding for the cafe will also provide employment and training giving opportunities for local unemployed people."
