Transport for London consults on P5 bus proposals

Transport for London have published their proposals for changes to the P5 route.

As previously reported on Vassall View Tfl last year consulted on possible permanent changes to the route of the P5 following on from its temporary rerouting whilst the Myatts Fields Park works made Calais Road hard for the bus to navigate.

TfL now propose to return the route of the P5 bus to its original 2001 routing, ie it will run along Vassall Road, Langton Road, Lothian Road and then on to the Patmore Estate, this will provide a better service to people living around Akerman Road but will not be so convenient for users of the Minet Library.

Local residents have previously petitioned Lambeth to keep the current rerouting along Flodden and Knatchbull Roads, another group also petitioned to return to the original route (as now proposed). The proposed rerouting fo the bus will be subject to route tests to ensure that the bus can get round and will also require the agreement of Lambeth.TfL P5 bus on Knatchbull Road

The TfL consultation on the new proposals runs until 6 August 2010.
