Lambeth Archives Open Day at Minet Library in Vassall Ward this Saturday

Come along this Saturday to the Lambeth archives Open Day at the Minet library in Knatchbull Road, SE5.

The Lambeth archives are situated at our local library in Vassall Ward, close to Myatt's Fields Park. The archives  hold the historical records of the council and of local organisations and businesses, over 50,000 photographs, several thousand old maps, the local newspapers back to the 1840s - all offering an insight Lambeth past and present.

This years open day looks at the local history of cinema going, film locations and home movies with a mixture of film screenings, illustrated talks, practical workshops and advice. Other activities and displays include an exhibition of original art and photographs, children's activities, archives enquiry desk, local societies' stands and book stalls. refreshments will also be available.
