Myatts Field North consultation event Monday 20 September 2010

Come and have your say tomorrow, 20 September 2010, on plans for a new community centre and public park in Myatts Field north in Vassall Ward.

As previously mentioned on Vassall View the Myatt's Field North estate in Vassall Ward is going to benefit from a £114m regeneration project that is set to transform homes and surrounding areas. Lambeth wants local residents and businesses to have their say and find out more about the plans for a new public park and community centre at a consultation event on 20 September 2010.

The event takes place at the Myatt's Field North estate and will run from 2 to 7pm. It will give people an opportunity to talk to architects and landscape designers and to express their views about the open spaces and community centre plans. Members of the residents committee will also be on hand to discuss the programmes that the community centre might offer in the future.

Viveen Blair-Rodney, chair of the Myatt's Field North tenants' management organisation said "Residents of Myatt’s Field North are really proud to be at the heart of this scheme which we envisage will bring about the unification of our local communities. I would encourage everyone to take this 'once in a lifetime opportunity' to come along and have an input into our future, and help make this scheme the best it can possibly be with something for everyone young and old."

When the final designs have been agreed and completed, a planning application will be submitted to the planning committee next Spring.

The event takes place on September 20 at the St John the Divine Community Centre, Fredrick Crescent, London SW9, from 2 until 7pm.
