Next week is London's Week of Peace

Next week 18 - 25 September is London's Week of Peace.People from different faiths will be coming together to get a part in a celebration of the borough's diversity.

As part of London's Week of Peace, Lambeth Council has organised a number of events from 18-25 September, kicking off with a community event for BMXers and skateboarders at Stockwell skate park.

The opening weekend will also see an inter-faith picnic on Windrush Square from 3 to 5pm on Sunday, a sponsored bike ride by the Tulse Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team from Lambeth to Brighton and a Voices of Youth event at the South London National Centre on Bernay's Grove.

The theme of this year's Week of Peace is giving back and it is hoped that thousands of people across London will sign up to donate time. Other events running through the week include peace walks through the borough, karaoke and a live music and comedy event.
