There are opportuinities to help out with getting the new seasons crops started in the greenhouse in Myatts Fields Park this Saturday.
Help us get the New Year’s growing off to a great start in the greenhouse during sessions from January to March 2011.
We welcome help from local people to weed ground and fork in new compost and manure during our first session from 11am to 1pm on Saturday 22nd January.
We’ll get an early start on the growing season by planting seeds and mushrooms during a session from 11am to 1pm on Saturday 12th February. And we’ll plant more seeds and look after new seedlings on Saturday March 12th.
All food grown in the greenhouse will be used in the park’s café or park-based cooking projects. We aim to grow year round salad and soup vegetables as well as a variety of fruits.
All ages are welcome. Local growing groups also welcome - there is space and support available for groups who want to get an early start. Plant seedlings in our greenhouse, then plant them out when you are ready
Sessions are funded by Activate London (Peabody Trust funded by Big Lottery) and organised by Myatt's Fields Park Project in partnership with London Borough of Lambeth. Contact Victoria Sherwin on 020 926 0394 if you have any questions
