Regeneration of St Agnes Place on course

An ambitious regeneration plan that will completely transform St Agnes Place (just to the North of Vassall Ward) in Kennington has been approved and agreed at a recent Lambeth Council planning committee meeting.

The plans are the result of a joint project between Lambeth Council and London and Quadrant Housing Association.

The area is set to see
Fifty-eight new residential units – 10 per cent of which are earmarked as disabled units.
New play areas
The re-alignment of the highway
Landscaped open space
A new purpose built childrens play and community building

Fifty two percent of the homes built will be allocated for affordable housing. The scheme also includes new initiatives to help improve the local environment and lives of local people.

Cllr Nigel Haselden, Lambeth Council cabinet member for planning, regeneration and strategic transport commented "This is great news for local people and businesses. The Labour Administration have worked hard with London and Quadrant Housing Association to develop a scheme that will transform the physical environment as well as improve the quality of life for local people."
