St John the Divine provides shelter to homeless people

St John the Divine Church on Vassall Road, SW9 in Lambeth's Vassall Ward this year is once again opening its doors to homeless people over the winter months. It will be offering food and shelter in the church community centre to rough sleepers on Friday evenings. St John's works with other churches in South London as part of the Robes Project to provide shelter to the most vulnerable through the winter months. The facilities at St John's will be used from January to the end of March.

Could you help?
The Project needs volunteers to help out with offering hospitality; could you help to cook meals on a Friday night or Saturday morning? Could you help with the washing? If so contact Father David Pennells at St John the Divine, tel 020 7840 0100 or email fatherdavid@btinternet.com
