Lambeth Living looking for new Board members
Have you considered putting yourself forward to be a member of the Lambeth Living Board?
Lambeth Living is responsible for managing Lambeth's housing stock, including much of the housing in Vassall Ward.
They are currently advertising for Board members on their website

Lambeth Living board elections 2012
Joining the board is an easy process:
Complete an application form
We will contact all residents that have registered an interest and ask you to complete an application form, telling us why you would like to join the Board.
Completed applications are due in on 18 June and you will be invited to attend a board meeting on 27 June.
Tenants and leaseholders will be asked to vote for the candidates they would like to represent them and elections will take place in July.
The successful candidates will join the Lambeth Living board at our Annual General Meeting in September.
This is a rare and unique opportunity to further your skills and help improve services for your fellow residents. You will receive specialist training about business management to help you make decisions about how we manage our housing.
By working with us and representing your neighbours you will help us to improve your housing and local area.

Food Revolution Day cooking and barbecue in Myatt's Fields Park Saturday
This Saturday, 19 May 2012, everyone is invited to join Brixton People's Kitchen in Myatt's Fields Park in Lambeth's Vassall Ward to prepare salads and other foods and share recipes as part of the Food Revolution Day.
Come along to the Little Cat Cafe from 11am for salad preparation; chopping and grating of salad vegetables grown in the park.
There will also be a recipe exchange stall to collect local recipes and creating an evolving community cookbook, based on local knowledge.
The salads produced will be served as part of a barbecue in the park on Saturday from 1pm.
Food will be free for volunteers, and given away in exchange of a recipe or some cash donation for everyone else. To volunteer, contact Fan 07810288879 - brixtonfoodwaste@gmail.com

SCRC is looking for a full time Centre Administrator. The post is for 12 months in the first instance.
Ideally located right in the heart of
Stockwell at 1 Studley Road, SCRC is a busy and welcoming multi-purpose
community centre providing essential facilities and services for local
residents. Well established and respected SCRC welcomes Stockwell’s
diverse community and is fully accessible to disabled users.
We need someone with energy, enterprise and
vision to take the SCRC forward into a new funding regime. You will be
working closely with the management team to create new systems for our Government
and Lambeth Council contracts and finding new clients to ensure the
Centre’s community spaces are always fully booked. We are looking for
someone who can maximise our income whilst always ensuring we never
stray from our community and charitable values.

Lambeth and Southwark votes Labour: Valerie Shawcross and Labour gain big majority
On Friday evening the results for the elections for Mayor of London and London Assembly were released.
Labour's Val Shawcross (pictured left) was re-elected with a greatly increased majority and a large majority of people in the constituency voted for Labour's Ken Livingstone for Mayor.
The Conservatives were second in the constituency whilst the Liberal Democrats moved to third place in the constituency London Assembly election and were fourth behind the Greens in the Mayoral and London-wide contests.
