This Sunday (5 June), the upstairs of the Ritzy cinema in Brixton will be hosting a special screening of documentary "Uprooted" (3pm-6pm) focusing on the recent redevelopment in Myatt's Field North.
A trailer for the documentary can be viewed here - the full film follows "the last days of three residents as they experience the various emotions of the demolition phase of Myatt's Field North estate , as well as the transitions to their new build homes which has now been commercially branded as 'Oval Quarter' for some a controversial regeneration programme".
Multi award winning film-maker Ross Domoney's first time release of the 30 minute long documentary will be played amongst discussions by Lambeth residents, including local resident group Chair Uzoamaka Okafor and Dr Stuart Hodkinson (Leeds university) who has extensively researched the Myatts Field North regeneration programme and similar PFI schemes. Ruth Lord from Fuel Poverty Action FPA is also an invited Speaker.
Transport to the event will be provided for MFN/Oval Quarter vulnerable residents, please contact: Myattsfieldnorth.firstname.lastname@example.org or call: 07415 764352 for RSVP and arrangements.
All those planning to attend are asked to RSVP as places are limited!
